Typical James Gunn film and not one of his best. The movie was disappointing in my ways. It seems like Gunn was trying to mix the tone of the early Superman films with that of the more serious/realistic tone of the Snyderverse. It doesn't work all that well ...

I've been very adamant on not watching the film in part due to my protest against WBD shitting on the Snyderverse and second is my very low opinion of Gunn. I agree the suit looks stupid as fuck. Henry Cavill is the best Superman...period. I don't care what anyone else says 8-)

I have been rewatching the Superman films recently. I'm currently at Superman III.
To be honest I have never been a big fan of the original films, they often feel cartoonish yet still entertaining in many ways.
