Re: Escape From New York (Remake)
I like Zack, but his last three flicks (all under Netflix) were pretty mediocre and indefensible. If he can lay off the constant cartoony greenscreening and CGI'ing damn near everything, I can have more hope.
Maybe it could be his comeback flick. I mean, he did break onto the scene pretty strong ...

EFNY is one of my favorite Carpenter flicks. And given Snyder's style for dark 7 gritty realism it is going to be interesting to see just how much of that he puts into this ...

I enjoyed it for what it is. I don’t get all the hate.DancesWithWerewolves wrote: Fri May 22, 2026 1:28 pm I just noticed Lazzy has Exorcist: Believer on there...I think he's the first person I know that liked it![]()
Exorcist 3 is the best sequel imo.

Re: 2020's Horror so far
I say that the films from the 70s and 80s are still more brutal in ways that the newer films are not. There was less censorship back then. Or at least until the mid to late 80s.

Re: 2020's Horror so far
Yes, the bulk of the franchise isn't, as I started off mentioning, those installments are silly superhero pulp. But I was talking about the ones that serioysly go right back to the atomic horror roots, which I believe have only 4 entries (6 if you count american cuts of the same film separately l ...

Re: 2020's Horror so far
I was surprised Wolfman didn't suck, given how everyone hated it upon release, but it's still pretty mediocre overall. Which was disappointing coming from the same guy who gave use The Invisible Man.
It was weaker than Invisible Man but still not as bad as some on the internet claimed.
I'm ...

Re: 2020's Horror so far
Just to make it clear I was only talking about Godzilla: Minus One.
The original Gorjira (1955) could easily qualify as horror. D's argument for atomic horror is also valid.
Comparing King Kong and Cloverfield to the 1955 Gorjira is like apples and oranges lol
