Batman vs. Superman (movie)

Post by Lazerus »

Most of you already know how much I loved Batman vs. Superman. It's still my favorite DCEU film and one of my all time favorite comic book films. (The extended cut is the best version). Zach Snyder does a fantastic job at delivering a dark/gritty and emotionally driven film. Ben Affleck delivers (imo) the best Bruce Wayne/Batman performance ever! Henry once again delivers as Superman and the finale (while not delivering the one on one fight between Superman and Doomsday) still delivers the emotional gut punch it was designed to do.

The only thing about the film that I did not care for was Wonder Woman getting shoehorned into it. I have always felt that her solo film should have come first and she later meets Batman and Superman in JL. That's the only thing I would have done differently here.

I have only seen the extended cut of BVS, but I actually liked it. Maybe my expectations were on the floor after all the hate it was getting. Admittedly I was skeptical at 1st about Affleck being cast as Batman and Eisenberg being cast as Luthor. To my shock Affleck turned out to be 1 of my favorite Batmans... sadly Eisenberg didn't manage to win me over in the same way.

I agree that WW probably should have been created and released 1st.

I liked Eisenberg's performance. It was different but that was the intention. I read somewhere that Snyder based his Luther off the original version from the early Superman comics. Not sure if that is true but it would make sense imo.
