I finally got around to seeing this movie. It was super long but worth it. Nothing beats watching one of these films in 3D!

The movie is beautiful, just like the first two. The one thing I appreciated about this film was it's pacing. It moved along much better than part 2 which was my biggest complaint about that one. Still the movie is lengthy. Cameron does an excellent job at showing the affect the war is having on the characters, especially Jake and his family. Natyri most of all is not doing well here. We are introduced to a new clan, the fire people. A group of Navi that have lost everything over the years and have become raiders to survive. I liked their leader, but felt underwhelmed by them in general. I thought they would be a bigger threat than they were. The humans are still the big bads!

The best thing about this film was Eywa! We get to see/learn a bit more about this deity (or conciseness) while still leaving more to discovery. Kiri is apart of that but she is a disappointment here. Camron drops the ball big time on the biggest mystery left by the previous film. So if you are like me and were expecting some huge surprise... you're fucked! lol

We spend more time with the whales. The water people, and the finale is well, sorta a repeat of the first film.

Overall I really enjoyed this movie. I like all three but Cameron needs to be careful going forward. I understand there is more to explore on Pandora. But that alone won't be enough to keep people going to the movies, especially for films this long. I saw multiple people get up and leave long before the movie ended.

Where do we go from here?: There are a few options for Cameron the way I see it. For one they need to wrap up the Second Pandoran War and there is only one way to do to that and keep things interesting. Natyri is the key here, her racist level hatred of humans is something I feel they need to dig deeper into. She needs to confront this and the best way to do that is for her to visit Earth. Yes! We need to take this story back to Earth. The general public needs to know what is really happening on that planet and not just want to media is telling them. Secondly, Natyri needs to see that not all humans are like the monsters that came to her home world. There are good ones, even better than Jake.

Lastly Spider. Now I will be careful what I say here but he is the key to ending the war. As for the war, Humans are not leaving Pandora. I see this ending with both sides understanding their destinies are forever merged. Humans on Pandora and Navi on Earth.
