I'm planning to take my youngest to see it this weekend.

For me Evil Dead 2013 was the best. It took what was a horror comedy concept and turned it into something seriously scary. Evil Dead II was my introduction to this series, so it holds a special place for me. I also enjoyed Rise. I haven't watched the TV show but image it is mostly camp.

This has been a great decade for horror movies. The late 2010's deserve some credit for what we have now. 2016 is where this trend of more serious, darker films as James stated began and it has only improved since.

As for the debate over what qualifies as horror and what does not is interesting ...

This film was good. I'm surprised it took you this long to watch it considering it was about hate for religion.

I know this is an important subject for you. But i am not expecting much from this movie.
